On Sunday, August 17th the Rangers made a sweet short term pickup in The Mouth’s opinion by obtaining the services of UFA Left Wing Vaclav (Vinny) Prospal. John Tortorella used his past history with Prospal as an inside track to wooing Vinny to New York and allow the Rangers to get him on the cheap for 1 year at 1.1 Million.

Prospal’s contract was partially bought out by his former team the Tampa Bay Lightning as he is due to make 3.5 Million this season but in a shrewd and financially prudent move by Sather and aided by the persuasiveness of Tortorella who coached Prospal while in Tampa Bay the Rangers will only be paying just a little over a million dollars of his total salary for this upcoming year.

Vinny is known for his exuberant flamboyant, celebratory acts and his play making ability. He has also spent some time at center in his career and perhaps the Rangers who at present have a horrible center ice situation may use him at that position.

The Big man loves the terms of the deal and feels how can you go wrong with this signing, The guy is making less than Donald Brashear for god sakes !

The Fast and The Furious and Curious. Darren Langdon vs. Bob Probert 11/16/95

The Ranger fans at Madison Square Garden where standing for the entire time that Darren Langdon fought Bob Probert back on November 16th, 1995. These two gladiators duked it out for almost one minute in what would be their first hook up ever. The Mouth provides us with the quality fight footage, which he is almost sure can not be found anywhere else on the Internet but here at Ranger Crisis.

The scrap is not only a fast and furious one but also a curious match up. Both fighters like to drag their matches out as long as possible over time to let their opponents wear themselves out. It is at the time they go for the gusto. When their opponents are exhausted a thrower like Darren Langdon would try to land a flurry of blows to subdue opponents. Bob Probert on the other hand one of the All-Time greatest NHL pugilists had only one thing on his mind and that was throwing bombs that led to kill-shots.

The Mouth gives his usual vociferous fight call and even is heard to shrill as Bob Probert’s sweater is pulled over his head by Darren Langdon. This is a toe to toe battle as both combatants wage war against each other in what was hands down the most memorable Ranger fight of the entire NHL 2005-2006 campaign.

Chris Kotsopoulos On Ranger Crisis Radio #6 8/13/09

The Mouth had a real treat Thursday for his Ranger Crisis Radio fans as his guest was Ex- New York Ranger and 10 year NHL Veteran Chris Kotsopoulos who by the way also writes for his own dynamite blog called Kotsy’s Korner.

The previous interview between the Big man and Kotsy on terrestrial radio a few months back went so well they decidedto do it again but this time within the friendly confines of the uncensored no holds barred forum Ranger Crisis Radio.

The format was a little different this past Thursday as the phone lines were open the entire show for Ranger fans to ask any question they might have had and for Kotsy and fire away they did. The inmates definitely ran the asylum on this show as Chris discussed a range of topics such as Scott Gomez's reaction to the trade to Montreal, his thoughts on Sidney Crosby and where he stands on the Rangers acquisition of the Big Rig Donald Brashear.

Call Of Duty. Coat Of Arms. Code Of Honor. Colton Orr vs. Shawn Thornton

The Mouth is of the belief that pugilists are some of the best character guys in hockey and an asset every team should have. What perhaps they lack in traditional hockey skill in most cases they make up with a great sense of Team, Sportsmanship and the highest regard for the Code of Honor for the special services they are paid to do. The Big Man suggests in the video itself that more smaller skilled players should take a cue from the enforcers and perhaps the quality of hockey in general would improve dramatically.

An example of sportsmanship and honor to the code of fisticuffs is shown in Episode # 15 of the Ranger Crisis.com only series GigantORR.

On March 8th, 2009 Colton Orr finds himself locked up in a tussle with veteran Boston Bruins thrower Shawn Thornton. Both warriors get into it and things begin to get serious especially after both combatants eject their elbow pads and get down to what they do best.

Shawn Thornton has the slight advantage in the first few seconds against Orr, but as the fight unfolds his advantage escalates dramatically when he manages to pull Colton Orr’s sweater over his head. Instead of pummeling the blind and disoriented Orr silly, The classy Thornton calls in the linesman to break up the fight.

This is tremendous example of sportsmanship by Thornton realizing that Orr was super susceptible to some nefarious knucks. A tip of the cap must go to Shawn Thornton, even though I think in the heat of the battle Colton probably would have wanted the fight to continue even with him being on par with a Helen Keller on skates.

How Low Can You Go ? Hire Ron Low ! Rangers vs Flames 11/18/00

In the year 2000 the Rangers and their fans were just get acclimated to a new President and GM in Glen Sather and a new coach Ron Low both of whom would eventually monumentally disappoint, especially the latter. The Mouth remembers having a near aneurysm when coach Ron Low was hired by Sather to run things behind the bench.

Low who previously had spent five seasons with the Oilers helped "guide" those Five Oil King teams he to under .500 records year after year.

There were not many bright spots for Low In New York as well as The Rangers with unlimited funds, especially in his initial year where the Rangers finished fourth in the Atlantic division and missed the playoffs.

As soon as the Big Man entered the 2000 -2001 season into the Ranger Time machine, the device began to buckle and hiss as it searched it’s computer banks high and low for a game worth watching from that season and to its credit came up with this gem.

The game took place on Novemeber 18th, 2000 and it was a rough, fight filled affair and also featured some great Ranger goals that eventually led to a Ranger 5-4 victory in Overtime on a goal by Valeri Kamensky.

As the Rangers head down the runway off ice they are congratulated by the fiery Blueshirt Theo Fleury who had been sent to the locker room earlier in the game. At the time of this Ranger Crisis video airing Theo is entertaining a comeback to the NHL at age 41.

Ranger Crush Islanders Souls With Game Six Win 78-79 Semi-Finals and Advance To Cup

Before 1994 came along this was the moment all Ranger fans held near and dear to their hearts. The May 8th Game Six elimination of their hated rivals the New York Islanders in the Semi-Finals of the 1978-79 Stanley Cup Playoffs was a thing of beauty.

Not only did this win at MSG psychologically shatter Islander fans dreams at the time of ever succeeding in the playoffs but it also propelled the Rangers into their first Stanley Cup Finals since 1972.

The Mouth revs up the time machine and treats us to rare footage of the game that is given from the Islander point of view. The game is called by Islander announcers Tim Ryan and Stan Fischler. Both goals the Rangers needed to beat the Isles are shown during the 7 Minutes of rare footage.

You will also get a feel of how electric the Garden crowd was that evening, all in attendance were hoping that the Rangers would take care of business that night so as not to have a Game Seven take place at the hostile Nassau Coliseum.

Straight Dave's Man Slammin' Max Out / Colton Orr vs Chris Stewart

Colton Orr finds himself in a bout with rookie Chris Stewart of the Avalanche or perhaps we should say it’s the other way around. Stewart a rookie who at 6’2 228lbs had his heart in the right place when he challenged GigantORR after Colton plastered his Av teammate the diminutive Marek Spatos with a thunderous hit.

Stewart’s heart was willing but his arms and fists were unable to translate his passion into any vengeful violence what so ever. The Mouth let’s the Ranger Crisis viewers know that this can only lead to bad things when provoking a fight with a heavyweight of Colton Orr’s caliber.

The Big Mans verbose foreboding of course comes to fruition as Stewart is laid out by a Colt 45 right handed peacemaker. Orr then is sent to the dressing room and on his way get’s into a battle of expletives with NHL super weasel Darcy Tucker.

Heineken, Henrik and Hippies. Sean Avery's What I Did On My Summer Vacation

Sean Avery spent part of the Summer vacation exploring familiar territory of wine, women and song as he opened up both a sports bar and participated in a music festival. In this Ranger Crisis Episode Sean is featured and shown as both a commentator and a participant with a vested interest.

Avery kicked off his summer vacation on Friday May 15th, 2009 by opening his own Sports bar called Warren 77, a pub in Tribeca which is located in Downtown Manhattan.

The Mouth spoke briefly to Avery about the bar and was urged to come on down to the opening. But when the Big man was told the bar only held 82 people and he would probably have to wait outside he opted out. But not with some regrets. Sean told the The Mouth that Henrik Lundqvist would be in attendance playing guitar at the opening. All of which is shown in the video.

The second event on the Broadways Bad Boy’s summer vacation list was to truck it on down to the Bonnaroo Music Festival held outdoors in Manchester, Tennessee which ran from June 11th-14th 2009. Sean played guest commentator for FUSE music channel and interviewed some of the festivals organizers and bands.

Sean also found the time to hang with then Atlantic Division rival Joffrey Lupul of the Flyers. Avery is no stranger to Bonnaroo and has attended previous ones in the past. Conversely, The Mouth detests Jam bands and tree hugging save the earth types, so there’s no chance of seeing him doing a remote on site from Bonnaroo. This years music festival had roughly 75,000 people in attendance.

Ranger Crisis Radio #4 Stephanie Bagley Of ESPN The Magazine

It's pretty ironic that one of the most obscure hockey source entities such as Ranger Crisis Radio gets uttered in the same sentence as the Sports juggernaut ESPN The Magazine but that was the case the night of July 27th my good people.

The Mouth's special guest for this particular show was freelance reporter Stephanie Bagley who's work can be seen in the prestigious ESPN The Magazine. Stephanie shot the gip with The Mouth for almost 50 minutes about a myriad of topics including her interviews with Henrik Lundqvist, Chris Higgins and Brian Leetch.

Steph gave us a nice scoop as she discussed and elaborated about Brian Leetch's thoughts on perhaps joining the Rangers organization in the future. A lot of ground was covered as both The Mouth and his guest talked about Hockey and the Social Medium, NHL Tweetups and even Fantasy Hockey and of course everything Rangers.

Sather Calls For Wrong Type Of T and A - Tyler Arnason for Dummies Video

On July 3, 2009 The Mouth surmises that Glen Sather sent out for some female companionship up at his ski lodge up in Banff, Alberta dialed the wrong number, after which an erroneous roster move was made, causing a 30 year old journeyman named Tyler Arnason to be signed as a unrestricted free agent.

This just has to be the case. Because The Big man has no explanation why The Rangers would be interested in this center iceman. This smacks more of a Islander pickup than a Blueshirt one. Begrudgingly, The Mouth put together a 22 second clip on Tyler Arnason basically so he never has to mention him again.

Not wanting to leave the Ranger Crisis fan on a down note, some bonus footage was added in the form of a Colton Orr fight from last season as Colt 45 took on rookie pugilist Tyson Strachan of the St. Louis Blues on February 16th, 2009.

GigantORR would land 7 of a 11 punches on Strachan who immediately ran back to the AHL's Peoria Riverman bragging to teammates he had fought Colton Orr up in the Major Leagues and got his banana beat in.

The Mouth will be out of town on assignment (mandatory mental facility evaluation) so the Ranger Crisis Radio show scheduled for next Thursday is canceled and instead the show will air live This Monday July 27th 9PM-11PM.

The Mouth's special guest this week will be Stephanie Bagley who has interviewed countless sports figures and more recently written features on Henrik Lundqvist and newly acquired Christopher Higgins. Stephanie is a writer for the prestigious ESPN The Magazine.

I Love The 80's Rangers : Rangers vs Flyers March 4th 1982

The Mouth starts his brand spanking new Ranger Crisis feature I Love the 80’s Rangers with one of his favorite pieces of game footage from March 4th 1982. The Rangers find themselves in the always hostile Spectrum facing their hated rivals who for some reason in a failed 80’s fashion move decided to wear Cooperall hockey pants for an entire season.

The clip features continuous end to end action called by then Ranger announcer Jim Gordon. Gordon supplied so much excitement in the booth that still to this day most Ranger fans can’t help but smile when hearing Jim turn it up a notch when the action on the ice got frenetic.

This is the case as a couple of odd man rushes and breakways by both teams that are shown in the video. The clip also features Phily legend Pelle Linbergh in only his third start as a Flyer net minder. Tending the Rangers net is consensus non- Ranger legend Steve Weeks. The game showcases some nifty plays by Rangers Mikko Leinonen and Rob McClanahan.

Rick Carpiniello 90 mInutes On Ranger Crisis Radio # 3

Rick Carpiniello veteran beat writer who has covered the Rangers for over 20 years joined The Mouth on Ranger Crisis Radio on Thursday in what turned out to be 90 Minutes of Non-stop free wheeling Ranger Puck chat.

Ranger fans got a chance to fire questions at Carp who not only answered them but regaled the Crisis Radio audience with some terrific Blueshirt stories that even the big man himself had never heard.

Rick also weighed in on the current state of the Rangers and gave his take on Chris Drury, Brandon Dubinsky and even Cory Potter. The Mouth apologizes to The Ranger fans who’s calls he wasn't able to get to but the switchboard was lit up like a Christmas tree and the 90 minutes flew by like Evgeni Malkin going one on one with Wade Redden.

The Mouth once again presents his Ranger Crisis.com only feature GigantORR Episode #12 The feature continues in time line the pugilistic trials and tribulations of former Broadway Bruiser Colton Orr's fight card from the 2008-2009 season.

As The Big Man approaches the conclusion of ex-Ranger and now Toronto Maple Leaf Colton Orr’s fight card from the 2008-2009 season , he cant help but wonder how often he will be calling bouts for the Rangers in 2009-2010 and how devastating new Ranger enforcer Donald Brashear will be when he locks horns with all comers.

Pugilistic musing aside, The Mouth treats us some really good footage of Colton’s last two fights against Eric Godard. These hook ups would be the third and fourth go around of the season for these two heavyweights. The second fight that is shown took place on March 28th 2009 which was GigantORR’s fight finale for now wearing a Ranger uniform.

Besides the fights, The Mouth also supplies us with some bonus footage which shows one of the worst calls against the Rangers from all of last season. The call was made by Referee Steve Kozari , who in the Mouth’s opinion is one of the worst Zebra’s in the league. If you see a Referee wearing # 40 and he’s "officiating" a Ranger game make sure you have plenty of TUMS handy, this guy makes Greg Madill look like Andy Van Hellemond.

Korpedo Exchange nets Rangers a Russian Gretzky. Enver Lisin For Dummies Video

The Mouth wants to clarify right from the get go. Before you kill him as the king of overstatement which lets face it folks, I think even The Big Man himself would admit is something he is definitely prone to doing, especially when his frequent bouts of Ranger madness overtake him of what sense he still has left.

We at Ranger Crisis must warn you from the outset, that if you haven't watched the video yet you should first know that the title of this post is wildly misleading.

For those who don't like to read and have already watched the video , The Mouth declared that Enver Lisin could be the next Russian Gretzky. The same way Alex Kovalev was proclaimed and portrayed as "The Next Russian Gretzky" on the back of the NY Post all those years ago.

The Mouth then returning to a more lucid mindset clarified the comment by quipping that Lisin could be the next Russian KEITH Gretzky.

But seriously folks, Enver Lisin is a nice pick up for the Blueshirts. The speedy Russian has shown some pretty nifty moves especially on the break playing for the Yotes. Enver's progress at age 23 has no where to go but up. The Rangers got Lisin in exchange for another 23 yr old Lauri Korpikoski.

The Mouth Hosts Two Hours of Ranger call in Talk radio. Where else you gonna find that? NOWHERE. You will be lucky to find two hours of Blue Shirt hockey discussed the whole entire summer on New York terrestrial radio. So this is the place to be, Every Thursday 9-11PM.

This past weeks show was fantastic. The Mouth had Russ Cohen of XM Radio's Prospect Show discussing and giving Crisis listeners the lowdown on Ranger hopefuls such as Bobby Sanguinetti, Matt Gilroy, and Ryan McDonagh and Russ clued us all in where they are as far as development.

Glen Sather Punk'd Bob Gainey: Ryan Mcdonagh For Dummies Video

Did Glen Sather snooker Bob Gainey ? The Mouth thinks so when the Rangers got Ryan McDonagh from the Canadiens as basically a throw in the Christopher Higgins for Scott Gomez deal.

No less did the Rangers dump Gomez’s preposterous salary and get a solid player in Higgins in return but they also managed to nab from what all the prospect experts in the Mouths lexicon say is going to be a a future solid NHL two way Defenseman. McDonagh was the first pick by the Habs in the 2007 draft and went 12th overall. Ryan at present is a 20 year old Junior for the Wisconsin Badgers.

Prospect Guru's such as Jess Rubenstein of The Prospect Park and Russ Cohen host of XM's Radio Hockey Prospect Show say that McDonagh is about 2-3 years away from actually playing for the Broadway Blues depending on whether he decides to finish out college or not.

The acquisition of McDonagh by Sather is baffling, just because it’s such a shrewd move which as we know is something of a rare occurrence in the Slats era akin to the appearance of Halley's Comet.

The impetuous of McDonagh being added to the deal may have been that Bob Gainey was just looking to clean house of all traces from the old regime and Sather was just there at the right time or as the Mouth suspects Glen Sather may have actually found someone worse at talent evaluation than himself in Gainey this time around.

Czech Power Play Cavalry To The Rescue Ales Kotalik for Dummies

The Mouth shouts to Ranger fans everywhere “Have no fear the Czech PP Cavalry is here!” which he feels has come to the rescue in the form of 30 year old Right Wing Ales Kotalik.

The Rangers signed Kotalik as a UFA when they inked him to a 3 million per season 3 year deal. Kotalik’s specialty is playing the point on the Power Play and he should add a nice stimulus package to last seasons Rangers bankrupt man advantage gross national goals product. Wall Street metaphors aside, Kotalik is a nice signing and will surely will shore up the Broadway Blues in several ways.

Kotalik although not physical is a grinder who likes to cycle the puck deep and is also a former teammate of Ranger Captain Chris Drury. Perhaps Kotalik will revive Drury a bit , but more importantly Ales will bring in the much needed Power Play help the Rangers so sorely require combined with the ability to stupify Ranger Fans with his booming slapper.

Fear and Loathing in Donald Brashear GigantORR Episode 11

On July 1st 2009 the Rangers signed probably the most loathed individual in this Ranger fans recent memory since probably when the Blue Shirts inked Bryan Trottier as a coach back in 2002. This all occurred when Glen Sather signed Donald Brashear one of the most unpredictable and feared enforcers in hockey to a two year 2.8 million dollar contract.

The only hitch about the acquisition is that Ranger fans are having a hard time forgiving “The Don” for his sucker job on Blair Betts during the playoffs last season, when Donald was a member of the Capitals.

The Mouth once again finds himself in the minority as he welcomes “The Big Rig” Donald Brashear with open “Huggy Bear” arms. Even at the somewhat geriatric age of 37 Brashear is a seasoned policeman who throws the body.

The latter of which his ex-Ranger punching predecessor Colton Orr couldn’t do consistently on a nightly basis. But don’t worry about Colton he will be fine in Toronto and will quickly become a fan favorite.

The Mouth treats us to video of fight that took place on February 11th 2009 between Orr and Brashear in their six tussle in total as part of his eleventh installment of the Ranger Crisis.com only GigantORR Series.

Then the Big man gives the Ranger faithful a sneak peak of what kind of pugilistic prowess the reluctant Broadway Blue fan can look forward to when they finally come around to cheering for this Punch your lights out first, ask questions later intimidator.

Gabby Days Are Here Again : Marian Gaborik For Dummies Video

The Mouth is ecstatic at the signing of Marian Gaborik as this was the guy he wanted all along. The Rangers are getting a sniper in his prime that they so desperately need for what essentially is Scott Gomez escarole with a five year deal at 7.5 per season.

As always in Rangerland there is always a catch. Gaborik does come with some injury baggage, but the 27 year old Slovak has assured the Rangers he is 100% healthy. The Mouth is however reserving his jubilation about the Gabby inking and doing his best to remain cautiously optimistic.

Only the future will tell what kind of nonsense concerning Gaborik's health will unfold when he actually hit’s the ice as a Blue Shirt. The again he may never get hurt again and be one of the Rangers all-time fan faves. So for now The Mouth is just Wild about Gabby.

The Big man of course has put together a semi-informational video about the Rangers biggest UFA signing so far of the off season.

Ranger Crisis Call Center is On The Air ! SHOW # 1

Some things in this world just make no sense. Apparently anything goes on the Interweb these days and the fact that they gave The Mouth his own call in show is one of them.

I kid you not the Big Man will be polluting the airwaves with his own unique brand of Ranger-centric Hockey talk on Thursday nights from 9-11 PM.

The real kicker is that Ranger fans will be able to interact with The Mouth via the call in show format to discuss Ranger Puck. I know he's looking forward to your calls.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

The debut Ranger Crisis radio show aired on schedule and it was a barn burner folks. Everything Ranger was discussed as promised and co-host Mandar went on an epic anti-islander Islander rant for the ages.

In addition we also discovered is that the people who called in the show might be more "troubled" than the Mouth, and that's saying a lot ! Thanks to all that called and made the Mouths inaugural broadcast a rousing success.

Christopher Comes In June : Christopher Higgins For Dummies Video

The Mouth declares June 30th 2009 Scott Gomez Salary Emancipation Day as the smirking ex Swamp rat was sent packing from the Rangers for Montreal’s Christopher Higgins.

The Rangers managed to dump both Scott Gomez’s bizzaro world salary and acquire not one but two good players in the process. The full deal played out like this. New York sent Scott Gomez, forward Tom Pyatt and defenseman Mike Busto to Les Habitants in exchange for Christopher Higgins and two defenseman Ryan McDonagh and Pavel Valentenko,

Ryan McDonagh is considered a top notch prospect and frankly as hard as it is, a lot of credit has to go to Glen Sather for hoodwinking Montreal’s GM Bob Gainey.

Brian Boyle For Dummies Video

The Mouth introduces a new feature that will Spotlight newly acquired Rangers in order to familiarize both himself and Ranger Crisis fans with just what the heck a particular player is all about. In a video segment called “For Dummies.”

The first player to be showcased is Brian Boyle. Boyle was acquired June 27 at the draft from Los Angeles for a 2010 third-round pick. Boyle is a 6’7 244lb Center.

They Let The Mouth Have A Call In Show

The Mouth make his Blog Talk Radio hosting debut on Thursday July 9th from 9PM-11PM EST and it promises to be one helluva wild ride.

The Big man will be providing serious New York Ranger Puck discussion done in a way that will definitely appeal to his lunatic fringe audience. The Ranger Crisis fans know the deal.

Now it's your chance to let YOUR voice be heard on Ranger Crisis Radio. The Mouth will be taking calls from New York Ranger and NHL fanatics throughout Thursday night and shooting the gip until the clock strikes 11 pm.

Archives be Damned ! 1974 Ranger/Flyer Playoff Classic Schultz Slugs Park

The Mouth provides a classic July 4th 2009 weekend Treasure Trove for his die hard Ranger Crisis fans showing the Rangers/Flyers Semifinal Game Three held at Madison Square Garden on April 25th 1974. The game is significant on several levels. The game captures the Flyers BroadStreet Bullies days in full throttle and it also conveys how intense this rivalry so much so that extra NYC policeman were added especially for this game.

This particular contest and series was an out and out physical war. Historically Ranger fans think that the Rangers got pushed around but after actually watching the games The Rangers gave it back to the Flyers physically pretty well. It really was the lack of production of the Blue Shirts GAG line that did them in.

But with that said two incidents stand out from this series. The first came in the deciding Game Seven when Dave Schultz used Dale Rolfe’s face as a punching bag and no Ranger on the ice came to his aide. The second is an incident that happened in this game you can ONLY see on Ranger Crisis.com when Flyer bastido supreme Dave Schultz went after and fought Rangers All-Star Defenseman Brad Park.

The Mouth provides TEN minutes of game footage direct from his archives for only Ranger Crisis Fans to enjoy.

The game shown has historical significance in Ranger lore because it sums up the pure hatred between the Rangers and Flyers had for each other in this epic Semi-Final series that went the full Seven games.

Another component of the footage shown is the almost comical play by play announcing of then Flyer announcers Don Earle and Gene Hart. Keeping in the tradition of Flyer absurdly humoristic hockey announcing the two actually cry foul every time a Flyer goon gets slapped with the appropriate penalties.

Controversial Mouth Checks Blueshirt Banter Radio

The Mouth checked in to give his take on the multiple signings and trades the Rangers have made over the past few days. The Mouth called the Blueshirt Banter.com live radio blogcast via land line and talked to hosts Jimmy "The Gem" Schmiedeberg and "Joltin" Joe Fortunato.

Ranger Russian Rifleman Grachev Is Filthy

The Mouth is feeling a little under whelmed by the Rangers Draft selections this past weekend and decides to turn his focus to an absolute gem of a pick the Blue Shirts made in last years 2008 entry draft by choosing Russian Rifleman Evgeny Grachev.

The Big man thinks his Rangers should be charged with highway robbery after stealing this 6’3 211 lb 18 year old stud from the Third Round of last year draft with the 75th pick overall.

Grachev is a pure speed demon who also has elite scoring and playmaking ability. A combination that should have even the most pessimistic Ranger fan anticipating his arrival to the big club.

Crisis Correction: In The Vid The Mouth incorrectly stated that Grachev trailed Tavares in OHL scoring by Only 14 points rather than the actual 24 pts

Crisis Crashes Islander Draft Party

The Mouth invaded the Islanders drafting party that was held on June 26th, 2009. The Big man decided to conduct a mock draft of his own by basically mocking the Islanders building, it’s fans and their ex players live and in person.

Now, you might say that is an awful lot of trouble to go to through just to bust the chops of the Islander collective. Actually for the Mouth it was no trouble at all.

His unique brand of Hockey humor is fueled by contempt for 95% of Islander fans, who for some reason need to focus on the Rangers shortcomings rather then concentrating on their own annual absurd NHL futility. Perhaps the Fish Stick fans should be spotlighting on setting the bar a whole lot higher for their own team.

The Mouth thought this the perfect opportunity to flip the tables and turn his full comedic attention to the tragic state of the Islanders and their fourth rate Organization, giving them a dose of their own medicine but a much more potent and higher quality comedic dose.

In some serious news a rumor started by an overweight Ranger fan circulated all night at the mausoleum that Islanders first pick overall John Tavares has bought a summer home in Kansas City.

The Mouth Interviewed former Ranger and Ten year NHL veteran Chris Kotsopoulos about all things Hockey this past Tuesday on WUSB 90.1 FM's radio's "The Nick Show." The 50 minute interview included Chris's time as a Broadway Blue, his comical experiences as a Whaler and his time playing for Harold Ballard for his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Mouth once again presents his Ranger Crisis.com only feature GigantORR Episode #10. The feature continues in time line the pugilistic trials and tribulations of the Broadway Bruiser Colton Orr's fight card in the 2008-2009 season.

In this Episode, Orr throws down with Eric Godard for the second time in the 2008-2009 season on January 5th, 2009 at The Garden. GigantOrr threw a whopping Thirty-Three punches to Godard’s Fourteen jabs and The Sheriff definitely had the eye of the tiger in this bout as he was looking to pound the Pittsburgh enforcer deep into and under MSG’s ice.

Unfortunately for Colton the only thing he did do with propensity is pound his right hand into chop meat as most of his shots caught the helmet of Godard which protected him from the majority of Orr’s Force 10 blows. However, the punches that did find Godard’s mush were some big powerful looping bombs. Orr threw nothing but hay in this hook up.

The Mouth also gives his boisterous opinion of GigantORR’s tenuous future with the Rangers. At the time of this posts entry Colton is a UFA. The Big man announces that a non-signing of this valuable Rangers pugilistic policemen would be an utter disgrace by Ranger Mismanagement and also a very costly one at that, especially with so many throwers in the rough and tumble Atlantic Division.

Scott Ferrall's F-Bomb laden Penguin Stanley Cup Call NSFW

As you know here a the Crisis The Mouth likes to keep things pretty much PG-13 but away from the show the big man has a tremendous grasp of colorful language, especially during the throws of a heated Ranger game.

The Mouth implores any Ranger fans that may be offended or not mature enough to handle the F Bombs and other vulgar words Ferrall spews forth to simply skip this post in good faith.

The only reason Ranger Crisis is showing this is The Mouth thinks it’s absolutely over the top hysterical. The following clip also does not involve Ranger Hockey which is another departure.

Ranger Crisis ensures you this will be a rare instance we step away from Ranger hockey, we make this clip the exception, after all this was the Stanley Cup.

That’s why The Mouth thinks the following clip is tremendous fun, because it is exactly how he would react if the Rangers had defeated the Detroit Redwings in last weeks Stanley Cup rather than the Pittsburgh Penguins. In his stead for this vulgar frantic celebration call is sports commentator Scott Ferrall.

We join Ferrall as he counts down the last seconds of the Final Game 7 with the face off deep in the Penguins zone. His final countdown was recapped on the Howard Stern show.

Mark Messier's Ice Violence leads to absolute absurdity.

The Crisis time machine is once again cranked into high gear back to simpler times, when the Rangers dispatched opponents nightly, something similar to how the Mouth dispatches of Mallomars.

This is one of the big mans all time favorite clips, mainly because it contains in his biased opinion, legal Ranger instigated on ice violence as well as a surreal journey into Hockey absurdity. The two essential qualities that make up a classic clip in the The Mouths warped mind.

This “incident” took place on February 26t, 1994 when the Rangers took on the Dallas Stars at Reunion Arena. The first part of this classic clip deals with a violent yet legal shoulder check that Mark Messier unleashes on Stars captain Mike Modano. The impact of this shoulder check sent Modano flying and spinning onto the ice unconscious and into a temporary sleepy-bye state. We are treated to several different camera angles that put into question whether the Messier hit was dirty.

Things get a bit scary when the Reunion arena Paramedic staff is put into action and has to put Modano on a stretcher in order to get him of the ice. It is at the time the journey into the surreal occurs and the twisted mind of The Mouth can’t help but laugh each time he takes the trip, once again validating that the big man is a very disturbed Ranger fan.

Colton Orr makes Mitch Fritz's peeper gush Hemoglobin GigantORR Episode 9

The Mouth once again presents his Ranger Crisis.com only feature GigantORR Episode #9. The feature continues in time line the pugilistic trials and tribulations of the Broadway Bruiser Colton Orr's fight card in the 2008-2009 season.

In this Episode, Colton Orr takes on the fish stick colossus they call Mitch Fritz. Fritz is an unworldly 6’8 258 towering over NYR's GigantORR who is 6’3 222. This makes Colton seems like Atom AntORR in comparison. The tussle between these two combatants took place on December 29th 2008 at MSG.

The fight itself is relatively short, as both Orr and Fritz lock horns and totally forget about defense and trade bombs. It is a perfect example of what The Mouth likes to call “eat then throw” a scrap tactic which was much more prevalent in the 1970’s and 1980’s before everyone did the “spin and throw“. Because of the sub-par bass fishing camera work by the Versus TV crew we don’t get to see most of the final punches thrown in the contest.

However, when the camera finally zooms in on the two, low and behold Icelander Mitch Fritz is gushing hemoglobin like a stuck pig out of his right eye. It is only after the crack video staff at Ranger Crisis.com with it’s two dollar budget actually shows the entire fight in slow motion, do we see the punch by punch trade off that these two adversary’s unloaded on each other.

A very impressive win for Sheriff Colton especially against this mountain of a man playing for a mouse of team that sadly was once was a bitter rival.

Sean Avery On Jimmy Fallon

The Broadway Bad Boy Sean Avery makes an appearance on The Jimmy Fallon show and does not disappoint. He does so by taking a verbal jab at Flyer Scott Hartnell by calling him "a bit of a clown"

Sean also talks about his charity work and his stint last summer working for Vogue magazine. Towards the end of the segment Sean participates in a predictable yet kitchy shooting contest with Fallon.

The crux of the bit is that if Sean loses the shooting contest to Fallon, Avery must wear a Philadelphia Flyers jersey. A sight which The Mouth thinks would make fans of both teams feel nauseated.

Colton Orr vs. Mike Rupp Payback is a Punch in the Face GigantORR Episode 8

The Mouth once again presents his Ranger Crisis.com only feature GigantORR Episode #8. The feature continues in time line the pugilistic trials and tribulations of the Broadway Bruiser Colton Orrs fight card in the 2008-2009 season.

This Episode of GigantORR deals with two fights Colton Orr had with Mike Rupp of the Devils. The first one took place on December 12th, 2008 in Newark as these two tussled and Orr found himself at the receiving end of some bombs thrown by Rupp. But with a chin probably made of steel or perhaps even some titanium alloy, Sheriff Colton Orr does not go down. But however credit must be given where credit is due and Mike Rupp got the best of Orr that night in Jersey.

The Mouth critiques that the few times Colton has lost a battle is when he tries to be too tricky by switching from righty to lefty during a scrap, The Big man also suggests that when you have a jack hammer of a right like Colton does it should be bombs away from begging to end until the other guy is seeing the bright white light.

The next time these two behemoths locked up it was once again at the Rock on February 9th, 2009. The outcome would be much different this time as Orr bested Rupp via a right hand that forced the Devil tough guy to take a knee and ask the officials what planet he was on.

John Davidson's Worst Moments

The Mouth shows us some very rare regular season footage of John Davidson between the pipes for the New York Rangers. The footage is rare for two reasons, one being that video from that era is rare just by itself and the second reason being, because of Davidson’s injuries after the 1978-1979 season J.D. simply didn’t play much.

It was at this time some old skool Ranger fans may remember that J.D switched masks from his most recognizable tri-colored striped mask to his “Lone Ranger” mask. The Lone Ranger mask was only worn by J.D in TEN National Hockey League games. This making the video shown here at Ranger Crisis even rarer.

The Big man as any Ranger fan worth his medal, considers J.D a Ranger legend. However, some of his performances on the ice were comically horrible. Examples of this are shown in two games from this Treasure Trove archive. The first game shown took place on March 30th 1980 against the Red Wings and the second game is an October 9th 1980 opening night debacle against the Bruins at Boston Garden.

Be warned most of these goals that J.D. gives up are absolutely brutal.

New NHL Rule Modifications and New Ranger Crisis Sponsor

The Mouth embracing the newness of two consecutive days of actual sunshine treats us to TWO separate videos both involving new beginnings. The Big man first introduces us to a new sponsor for his Ranger Crisis program, which bizarrely is located in Washington D.C and not in New York. He also states that he has begun a search for Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin during the spot.

The Mouth also uncovers some very interesting New Rule changes that are coming to the NHL for the 2009-2010 season. This comes directly from the Steamroom at Onion Sports. The new rules are said to include and enhance the games scoring as well as help elevate NHL hockey to mass appeal for people who have not yet endeared themselves the sport of Hockey.

Four Wars 150 Punches Ago.. Orr vs. Godard GigantORR Episode 7

The Mouth once again presents his Ranger Crisis.com only feature GigantORR Episode #7. The feature continues in timeline the pugilistic trials and tribulations of the Broadway Bruiser Colton Orr’s fight card in the 2008-2009 season.

A battle of the heavyweights takes place as Colton Orr faces Penguin enforcer Eric Godard at the Garden on December 3rd 2008. These two are no strangers to each other and as a matter of fact this fight was the first of FOUR wars that they would engage in during the 2008-2009 season.

The fight is a direct result of a love tap that Colton gives Sidney Crosby after a whistle. Godard like all good team Policeman should do responds appropriately and instigates the rough stuff with Orr. What ensues once they finally pop the ejectors on their gloves is a full out blitzkrieg of Bombs by both combatants .

The amazing thing is that none of them staggered at all as they both traded dukes in this 40 punch battle. The Mouth of course amped up on Hagen Daz and Red Bull as always gives us the blow by blow fight call.

Koci Breaks hand on Orr's Face/ Orr Slugs Jarkko Ruutu/ GigantORR Episode 6

The Mouth once again presents his Ranger Crisis.com only feature GigantORR Episode #6. The feature continues in time line the pugilistic trials and tribulations of the Broadway Bruiser Colton Orr’s fight card in the 2008-2009 season.

It all starts off with a clip from a Ranger/Ottawa game on November 22nd 2008 where the Blue Shirts trailed badly late in the Third Period and Colton Orr took exception to a check that NHL weasel extraordinaire Jarkko Ruutu put on teammate Freddy Sjostrom. It was at that point, Orr decided to try and rearrange Ruutu’s proboscis.

Following the Ruutu clip, next shown is Colton Orr’s SIXTH fight of the season on November 26th 2008. A ROUND TWO battle against Tampa’s David Koci. The Mouth finds himself eating some rare crow as the “Czechoslovakian Tomato Can” Koci scores a surprising win against Colton this time around. However, as we know GigantORR’s chin is made of steel and Koci wound up paying the price for his rare win by breaking his hand in the tussle and missing a month of playing time.

Walt Poddubny R.I.P./Sandstrom Hat Trick Kills Isles in OT 1/31/86

This episode of Ranger Crisis starts off with a somber tone as The Mouth pays tribute a beloved New York Ranger Walt Poddubny. Walt died of a heart attack back on March 22, 2009. Poddubny was only 49 at the time of his passing.

Although he spent only Two years in the Big Apple his one ice persona was one of hustle and exuberance. A skilled play maker and goal scorer for the Blue Shirts, Walt immediately became a favorite of the Garden faithful. He banged home 40 goals in his first season and 38 in his second and final with the Broadway Blues.

The Mouth searched his archives to find some Poddubny footage and came up with a gem from New Years Eve 1986. Walter was instrumental in leading the Rangers to an Overtime victory against the rival Islanders that night by assisting on two of the three goals that line mate Thomas Sandstrom scored on, including the crucial overtime winner.

The Mouth recalls from his memory banks that Walt Poddubny was a big fan of the Three Stooges. In tribute the always demented Mouth treats us to one of the most violent scenes in Stooges History in honor of Walt’s fun loving spirit.
